June 28, 2014 was an exceptionally dark night with a crystal clear atmosphere. I couldn’t resist trying some long exposures of the southern sky. The bulge of the galactic center is the bright area directly above the point of Landsend Peak. I used a flashlight to paint the plum tree in the foreground during the 15 second shutter.
